How to Use

How to Read the Weight Charts

Follow these four steps to accurately calculate fastener weights for your project BOM, shipping estimate or material take-off.

01
Select Chart Type
Choose the relevant chart — bolt, nut, washer, stud bolt, threaded rod, carriage bolt, ring or coated fastener chart from the navigation tabs.
02
Find Your Size
Locate your nominal diameter (e.g. M16 or 5/8″) and the required length in the size column. Use the search bar to quickly jump to your size.
03
Apply Material Factor
Table values are for carbon/alloy steel (density 7.85 g/cm³). Multiply by the material factor in the density reference panel to convert to SS, Inconel, Titanium etc.
04
Multiply by Quantity
Multiply the weight per piece by your required quantity to get the total batch weight. Use the online calculator above for instant results across all materials.
Bolt Weight Chart
Theoretical weight of hex head bolts (DIN 931 / ISO 4014 partially threaded) and fully threaded hex bolts (DIN 933 / ISO 4017) per piece in grams.
Carbon Steel Density 7.85 g/cm³ · DIN 931 / DIN 933
Hex Bolt Weight Formula
W = (d² × L × π/4 + Head) × ρ
W = weight (g), d = nominal diameter (cm), L = grip length (cm), ρ = material density (g/cm³)
Material Conversion Factor
W_mat = W_steel × (ρ_mat / 7.85)
Multiply table weight by material density ratio to convert to SS, Inconel, Titanium etc.
Weight per 100 pieces
W_100 = W_piece × 100 / 1000 kg
Divide total gram weight by 1000 to convert to kilograms for shipping documentation.
